Spring 2022: Maria Staubs
Maria Staubs is a sophomore at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication in Phoenix where she is majoring in broadcast journalism and minoring in film and media production. During her time at ASU, Maria has worked as a print reporter for Downtown Devil and as a broadcast news reporter for the Cut Network. She is the Executive Producer of the Cut Network where she continues to report, set the weekly newscast order, and oversee teams of reporters, social media, and editors. This experience will prepare her for when she works at Cronkite News as a reporter. When she isn’t reporting, she is writing short films for Maroon and Gold Entertainment.
Summer 2021: Derrick Smith
Congratulations to Derrick Smith, who has accepted his first job with Fox 10 as an associate producer in Phoenix! Derrick is a graduate of ASU’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication where he majored in broadcast journalism and minored in digital audiences. During his time at ASU, Derrick worked at Cronkite News where he gained experience as a social media producer, digital reporter and a broadcast news producer. As a news producer, Derrick wrote scripts, edited video and laid out the order of content for the newscasts. Derrick is a proud former intern of Hart Talent Management.
Spring 2021: Sierra Ryder
We’re so proud of Sierra Ryder who has taken her first job in the industry as a Live Desk Anchor and MMJ at NBC Montana. She recently completed her M.S. Degree in Broadcast Journalism at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication within the Broadcast and Digital Media program, in Syracuse, NY. She fell in love with broadcast news and journalism while working at KPIX in San Francisco. While there, she worked as a news writer, production assistant, ran prompters and assisted reporters in the field. Ryder earned her B.S. degree in Rhetoric from Bates College in Lewiston, ME and earned a Bates Scholar Athlete Award, Dean’s List for Academic Excellence, NESCAC All Academic Honors, USCSC Dean’s List for Academic Excellence, NESCAC All Academic Team.
Fall 2020: Spencer Hardenbergh
Spencer Hardenbergh is a senior, majoring in Journalism, at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Since anchoring his high school’s morning show, he’s been working behind the anchor desk. In college, he spent years anchoring Cronkite Sports Live, a nationally recognized award-winning live production. He also co-hosted and produced his own show “Harris & Hardy†on Blaze Radio. On top of this, he’s done field work reporting on Arizona State sports teams both as a writer and a videographer. After graduation, Spencer is excited to start a career in television as a reporter/anchor.
Spring 2020: Ryan Tisminezky
Ryan Tisminezky is a sophomore at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication in Phoenix. His major is Broadcast Journalism. Ryan has been editing video since high school and while with Hart Talent Management, he will be editing client reels and posting to our site as well as to social media. Currently, he is on the video desk at The State Press, ASU’s student-run news organization. Ryan is looking forward to a career in television news as reporter/anchor. Hart Talent Management is committed to mentoring our interns while they attend college and beyond.
Fall 2019: Katelyn Keenehan
Congratulations to Katelyn Keenehan on her first job at WBIR in Knoxville, TN! Katelyn served as Hart Talent Management’s very first intern. She is a graduate of Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication in Phoenix where she majored in broadcast journalism and minored in social media. At ASU, Katelyn was a program coordinator for Arizona PBS Horizon, where she assisted in producing the show, creating graphics, editing, and shooting video. In 2020, Katelyn was honored with a Student Production award by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences — Rocky Mountain Chapter for her story The Miracle Wish.
